Blog/ Website improvements and features update
Greetings my friends,
I am continuing on this 86 West website development and content creation path.
I have added a few new features to 86 West that I want to tell you about.
NEWS Banner:
If you look at the very top of each page now you will see a black “News Banner”. This feature will allow me to provide you with new information about site improvements. So be on the lookout for updates to the “News Banner”.
“Share” Buttons:
Now, at the end of each Blog there are now “Share” buttons. So, YOU can use these buttons to share 86 West blogs via Facebook, Email, Messenger and if you are using a mobile device SMS/Text.
So if you know someone you think would enjoy the positive messages and content you can easily forward using these buttons.
3rd Party Cookies (REJECT ALL)
I installed the “Share” buttons using a 3rd party application called “Share This“. Then released after installation it comes with a small “one time” annoyance. The “Share This” application would like to track your “Use” data (cookies). So now you will see a green “Privacy” Setting Symbol. AND on the FIRST time using a button you will be prompted to accept or REJECT data storage “cookies” on their site. I recommend just selecting “REJECT ALL” then “SAVE & EXIT”. Do that at no data is stored.
Email Sign-Up POPUP Window
Another feature I added, now when you come to 86 West for the first time you will see a new “POPUP” screen asking you to Sign Up to be added to our email list. If you “Sign Up”, when new content is added, I will use the email list to send a BC: (Blind Copy) email to the addressee’s letting them know about the new content. So if you have an elderly parent that doesn’t do Facebook or know how to navigate smart phones but does do email, then you can sign them up. No name is required, and since the email will be sent BC: no one will see the email addressee. So everyone’s privacy is assured.
Blog Comments:
New Blogs now have the capability to leave COMMENTS. The comment section is at the very bottom of the Blog. I have the COMMENT settings to allow anyone to post a comment. You can post a comment by typing in your name and email address. The URL field is not required.
Of course I would l love to know WHO the feedback and comments are coming from so hit the SUBSCRIBE button and let me know what you think.
In today’s world of cyber mischief things can go sideways quick. So I will moderate and approve all comments before they are shared to the Blog site. Go ahead and give it a try. Leave a Comment.
