Hello, my name is Greg Johnson.
Born in 1960, I grew up in rural Alabama. Memories from my childhood include Saturday morning cartoons, riding horses with my sister and our neighbors in a place called Bear Creek Swamp. I remember hunting with my dad. I remember the days of segregation, then desecration, Watergate, Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, John Wayne and Elvis. I grew up being loved, back in a time when kids would roam outside all day long with the only rule being, “Be Home By Dark”.
I remember watching my mother get baptized in a little creek near our home when I was around 7 years old. I remember a small country church where I was taken every Sunday morning, every Sunday night and every Wednesday night. Brother Ray Murphree preaching Dispensation Truth and The Death, Burial and Resurrection EVERY service.
In my high school years I attended a small Christian School which for better and for worse influenced my spiritual journey and my academic struggles. Mr& Mrs Grady Nixon influencing my direction in life.
After high school I attended Auburn University due to an unexpected call from my GrandFather, Johnny Coleman and FINALLY graduated with maybe the lowest GPA in AU history with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
After college I moved to Georgia, and worked at Southern Company’s, E.I. Hatch Nuclear Plant for over 30 years. Shout out to my Hatch tribe, I love ya’ll.
My wife, Linda, a UGA grad, and I have two sons, Jared and Cole. Both grown, married to wonderful women, Amanda and Samantha. I have one Granddaughter. Like my father before me, I am now a “Pa”.
I am honored that you are here in this place.
I would love to hear from you, so please,
